Queer Parenting Collective

The scoop:

The Queer Parenting Collective (QPC) exists to deliver quality guidance to parents who identify as LGBTQIA+.

Designed to provide inclusive and collaborative support to LGBTQIA+ parents in the Greater Winston-Salem community and beyond, the QPC offers opportunities for LGBTQIA+ parents to enhance their confidence and skill in navigating the complexities of parenthood as a person who does not identify as heterosexual and/or cisgender.

 

The program targets five main goals:

  • Providing a sense of belonging for LGBTQIA+ parents

  • Educating parents on positive co-parenting strategies

  • Helping parents identify and achieve their parenting goals & values

  • Enhancing effective communication strategies with children

  • Preparing and feeling equipped for having sex-ed/gender identity conversations with children
