How to know if telehealth is right for you:
Telehealth counseling can be a powerful and convenient option. Here are some signs it might be a good fit for you:
-
You want more convenience – You’d prefer to attend sessions from home or a private space that’s comfortable for you.
-
Your schedule is packed – You need flexible appointment times that fit into a busy or unpredictable routine.
-
You don’t want to (or can't) travel – Avoiding commutes saves time and energy, especially if transportation is a barrier.
-
You live in a rural or underserved area – Telehealth gives you access to quality care regardless of location.
-
You’re relocating or frequently traveling – Continuity of care is easier when you can attend sessions from anywhere.
-
You want more options – You’d prefer to work with one of our specialists who may not be local but who can meet your needs.
-
You have a health condition that makes mobility difficult – Telehealth can make it easier to attend sessions without added physical strain.
-
You can’t easily take time off – Whether for work, school, or other commitments, telehealth helps you fit therapy into your day.
-
You value your privacy – You’d rather avoid waiting rooms.
-
You feel more open at home – Being in a familiar environment helps you relax and speak more freely.
-
You’re a parent or caregiver – You don’t want childcare challenges to interfere with accessing therapy.
-
You want consistent care – Weather, illness, or emergencies won’t keep you from your appointments.
-
You’re tech-comfortable – You like the idea of using online tools, resources, or screen sharing during sessions.
-
You prefer to avoid seasonal bugs – You want to reduce exposure to illness, especially during flu season or other public health concerns.
How would I know if telehealth might not be right for me?
-
If you have a hard time accessing an uninterrupted, private, quiet space
-
If you have limited or unreliable internet access
-
If you’re uncomfortable with technology
-
If being on a device makes it extremely difficult for you to focus

How does Online Counseling work?
Our approach to online therapy follows the same basic outline of the individual and family counseling services we offer. The only real difference is that you won't be in the same room for sessions as your therapist. Prior to your first secure video session, you'll receive an easy-to-follow outline for how to access your session from home (or wherever you choose), so that you won't have to worry about getting lost. Clients who've worked with us using our secure telehealth platform have told us they find sessions easy to navigate, fun, engaging, and interactive.
