"As a clinical social worker, I am grateful
to have the opportunity to work with clients on the challenges they are facing in their lives, and to be able to walk beside them on a journey where they are able to get to know themselves better, identify their strength and resilience, and begin to grow into the person they want to become.
I was drawn to this profession due to the desire to help others and make an impact. In my own personal journey, as a professional, but also as a human being with her own challenges, I have realized that asking for help and having someone to talk to that I know will always be in my corner, is invaluable. Having a space where I can go and talk about what I need to talk about and being able to also provide that to my clients, is a precious gift.
I primarily utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Mindfulness in the work I do with my clients, while also recognizing that being Client Centered and building a relationship with my client is essential for quality therapeutic work to be done. The value of Existentialism and finding meaning in challenge is also a technique I utilize regularly in my clinical work with clients. Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is also something I regularly turn to, as it combines mindfulness and CBT principles while adding even more skills for clients to utilize.
When coming to sessions, clients will be welcomed and encouraged to talk about what they want to focus on. Goals we can accomplish in our work together may include finding acceptance to be your true self, grieve a loss in your life, facing past or present fears and worries, and many other things. In sessions with me, you will have a space to open up about the hard things, the good things, the scary things and anything else you have going on in your life. We will also seek out moments of humor where we can laugh and find the joy in your life, too. My hope is to help you become the person you want to be and meet the goals that are important to you.
Outside of the office I am a wife and mother of a teenager, a cat person, an avid reader and music listener (I am open to all genres), and love to travel and experience new things. I look forward to meeting you and working together!!
